The day after Thanksgiving is a big shopping day, right? Black Friday. The following Monday, Cyber Monday. Halloween, Valentine's Day, Christmas, all historical holidays that have morphed into retail treasure troves. Yesterday, I experienced one more... Super Bowl "Saturday"! You can tell by the picture what a mad-house it was. All I actually needed was a 12er of Sierra Nevada. But, the day before the biggest consumer sporting event in the country, it took me about 30 minutes to accomplish, whilst weaving between carts piled high with frozen chicken wings, guac and corn chips.
While Bud Light, Pepsi, Volkswagen and GoDaddy assembled their brightest agencies to entertain us with the latest sixty second cinema, grocery stores and club discount stores have been stocking up for what most certainly is emerging as another big shopping day.
Like the other big shopping days there are sales going on, but not yet ones that rival Black Friday. I wonder how long until we see campers outside of Best Buy on Super Bowl Saturday!
